Rod Carew's first MLB game was as the starting second baseman on opening day 1967. He went 2-4 as the Twins lost to the reigning World Series Champs, the Baltimore Orioles. He would also start at second base in the All Star Game that season. He would be selected to the All Star team every year for the 18 years in a row. Only in his final year, 1985, he did not appear in the All Star game when his batting average dropped to a meager .280. 48 points below his career average of .328 and over 100 points below his career high of .388 in his MVP season 1977.
I typically love your work. I don't like this one. I think it's the color of the team name and the downward slant of his autograph.
