The A.L. clung to a 4 run tie into the 12th inning of the 1970 All Star Game. Then Pete Rose barreled over Ray Fosse to break the tie in front of the home crowd to give the Nationals the win.
Yaz went 4 for 6 in the game. He scored a run and drove in another. He was the 2nd All Star game MVP to play for the losing team. Brooks
Robinson was the first in 1966 and no player has accomplished that feat
since.

Yeah, I remember bits and pieces of that game. Wish we could see the whole game on You Tube like some of the other yesteryear games. What was truly amazing was that Earl Weaver, the manager for the Baltimore Orioles took out his own first baseman (Boog Powell) in order to keep Yaz in the game (bringing him in from Center-field.) I know one of those outs Yaz had was a deep drive to center that Willie Mays caught at the warning track. Yaz was truly an awesome player in his day - probably the best all around player in left field in the game.
