1967 Topps Traded Jack Sanford

Jack Sanford started his career beating out Phillies teammate Ed Bouchee for Rookie of the Year in 1957. His career ended when he was released by the Kansas City Athletics in August of 1967.  He started the 1967 season on the Angels and appeared in the 1967 Topps set in an Angels uniform. I played with the idea of making a 1968 card of Sanford on the A's but decided on 1967 because he was released before the season ended.

  1. I like it! Someone else has created a 1967 Curt Simmons card (with the Angels).

Other long-time veterans traded during the 1967 season were Bill Skowron, Turk Farrell, Ken Harrelson, Ed Bressoud, Ken Boyer, Jim King, Jim Landis, and Steve Barber.

Topps forgot to make 1967 cards of Lenny Green and Jay Ritchie. They also failed to include notable rookies Gary Nolan, Don Wilson, and Chuck Hartenstein in the set.
